Tender Buttons Books was born in 2026 from my deep and abiding love of all things book-related—reading, the art of storytelling, author talks, book design and packaging, book arts—and my enthusiasm for connecting readers with their next favorite read.

I am an indie bookseller (best job in the world) with a background in Book Art (MA) and book and magazine publishing (Chronicle Books + Illustoria Magazine). In 2017, I founded Brief Book Reviews as a platform to share the books I’m reading and loving with friends and fellow readers around the world.
I read, on average, upwards of 200 books a year, and my reading spans all genres. I’m passionate about books written by women, LGBTQ+ and BIPOC authors, and I’m a stickler for well-crafted characters, an interesting plot, and great writing.
I live with my family—readers all—in Oakland, California.
